I’m going on vacation and considering not bringing my MacBook because I really want to travel light. But I’m worried about having enough storage on my 16GB iPhone for all the movies and music that I want to bring, plus the photos that I’ll be taking. Can I upload big batches of photos to Flickr or somewhere else?
Sure! Before you leave, be sure to grab Flickit, a free Flickr uploader that smoothly handles batch-uploading from your iPhone to Flickr’s online photo-storage service. (If you want to use Safari to double-check that everything was uploaded before you purge your phone of those photos, just surf to m.flickr.com, the iPhone-optimized version of the site.)
Just tap the photos to upload them from your iPhone to your Flickr account. Thanks, Flickit.
Another thing to check out is online-storage service Dropbox--sign up for a free 2GB account at dropbox.com, and then download the free iPhone app. Now you’ll have another couple gigs for not only photos, but music and movies as well. Just store iPod-formatted songs or videos in your Dropbox, and you can access and play them from the iPhone’s Dropbox app. To back up photos from the iPhone to your Dropbox, open the Dropbox app, tap the camera button, then Existing Photo, then send a photo to any folder inside your Dropbox, which is also backed up online.
